My goal with these lesson plans are to teach the students new techniques while also constructing a judgement free zone where they are able to create new things. Below are some lesson plans I created for the second grade class at Prairie View
Ogden North Elementary School.

Water Color Landscapes

In this lesson I am introducing the multiple ways students are able to use water color. I have added collage to this lesson as well to make the students think more outside the box than just painting on a normal piece of paper.

Colored Pencil Comic Strips

This lesson I introduced the techniques of burnishing and shading. The students made comic strips that represented themselves.

Marker and Water Dots

In this lesson I read the kids The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, this book lets the kids know that you should not have a negative attitude while creating art. I have combined water into this lesson by having the students add water to some of the marker designs to make the colors bleed together.
